Μέχρι στιγμής οι ουγγρικές αρχές δεν έχουν αποσαφηνίσει στον τοπικό Τύπο από πού προήλθε η έκρηξη σε κτίριο στο κέντρο της Βουδαπέστης και βέβαια το αν υπάρχουν νεκροί ή τραυματίες.
Ωστόσο, σε αρκετά ρεπορτάζ τονίζεται πως κοντά στο σημείο υπάρχει night club, στο οποίο υπήρχαν αρκετοί, ενώ επισημαίνεται ότι στο δρόμο κυκλοφορούσαν άτομα που κατευθύνονταν στο νυχτερινό μαγαζί.
